Justin Gatlin is an American sprinter. He tested positive for prohibited medications in 2006 and served a 4-year ban. It was defined that he had administrated testosterone. Since his 4-year ban is over, this sportsperson was waiting to be accepted back. But it seems that this sportsperson doesn’t know the rules linked with the return to the world of sports. An athlete who has served a certain ban due to administration of performance-enhancing drugs doesn’t return automatically. He\She must admit publicly that it was an immense mistake; he\she should apologize “with tears in his\her eyes” that he\she has taken performance-enhancing preparations.
But this sportsman intends to do things his way. He claimed that he had never administrated forbidden medications intentionally. Justin Gatlin claimed that he had tested positive for steroids because a revengeful masseuse had used a testosterone cream during a massage. In fact this explanation was taken from a book of Lance Armstrong, a former American cyclist. Justin Gatlin has not changed the Laurence’s explanation at all in about 5 years.
Since Justin Gatlin didn’t admit using steroids publicly, sports writers interviewed him many times. The American sprinter was asked whether he would admit taking banned medications. Once it has been made clear that this sprinter had administrated banned products intentionally. It was during an interview made by a reporter of New York Times. Justin Gatlin said that he would admit applying anabolic steroids intentionally in exchange for a embrace! Could you imagine it? The reporter told the American athlete that people would embrace him more, if he admits. Nevertheless, Justin Gatlin remained “invincible”, asking: “If I say it right now, are you gonna give me a hug?”
Since this sprinter has already the support of the USA Track and Field (USATF), it is beleived that this American sportsman will never admit using banned medicines. It is unclear why he has received the support because Jill Greer, the spokesperson for the USATF, says that USATF is not going to support athletes who have ever taken steroids for performance-enhancing effects. Such athletes must be ignored, according to USATF. The case related to Justin Gatlin displays that the affirmation of the spokesperson is not practically respected.
