Oconee County’s employees are going to be tested for anabolic steroids. The County Administrator Scott Moulder stated about possible the Oconee County Council’s changes related to the list of narcotic drugs. There is a possibility that anabolic steroids will be included in this list.
Since steroids are widely administrated by law enforcement officers in many states, the chairman of the public safety committee Wayne McCall said about an important decision. The chairman stated that steroid testing has to be performed in Oconee County. The chairman said what led to the decision to test employees for the prohibited medications. According to the chairman, anabolic steroids have negative influence on people. They turn normal persons to crazy ones. The chairman compared people that use anabolic steroids with “Magilla Gorilla” that may become aggressive and kill others. So, the chairman believes that consumers of steroids are extremely dangerous individuals for society. The chairman says that intake of these prohibited medicines is an increasing problem around the country. Even police officials and firefighters use these forbidden substances that cause psychological disorders and violent behavior.
McCall said that some deputies and firefighters were similar to Magilla Gorilla, the character of the 1960 cartoon “The Magilla Gorilla”. He stated that such officers might affect own health and life or even kill other people.
It was the first time when consumers of anabolic steroids were compared with the cartoon character Magilla Gorilla. Certain individuals confirm that the comparison is quite ironical.
However it is claimed that steroid testing will benefit, it is necessary to remember that it will cost too much money from taxpayers funds.
